These bearings are self-aligning, with a split design, which allows replacing the bearing without the hassle of removing the shaft. Metallic shaft does not come into direct contact with the bearing material as a thick sleeve of non-metallic material is mounted on shaft ends, extending service life by providing low friction contact surfaces between shaft and bearing.
